1. Brainstorming & Ideation

March – April, 2024

To hear from the broader community and key stakeholder groups about their ideas, needs and aspirations

2. Charting a Vision

May – June, 2024

Identify a short list of potential uses and activities based on initial ideation.

Create a draft vision statement, set of guiding principles and a set of design intentions

3. Evaluation: Phasing & Prioritization

June – July, 2024

Design and construction professionals will prepare a descriptive, feasible multiphase approach for evaluation.
  • If needed, there may be a third round of public engagement activities in late June to evaluate the proposed phasing and prioritization.

4. Consensus & Recommendations

August – September, 2024

Building on the community’s ideas and professional insights, the Community Center Committee will prepare a final report with the community’s consensus and recommendations to the Park Township Board of Trustees.

Vision Statement

A brief, inspiring statement suggesting a future that fits the context and circumstances at hand, whilie evoking a prospect that rises above the norm.

Guiding Principles

A set of core values to inform the programming, character, design, operations/maintenance, financing. This also serves as an evaluation criteria for the design and implementation phase.

Preferred Uses & Programming

A short list of potential uses, activities, and services identified by community interests and professional guidance to be incorporated in the design of the community center and its site.

Design Intentions

A brief description of the various building- and context-related outcomes the project seeks to achieve through its design.

Multiphase Approach

An outline of feasible, financially prudent implementation steps to support near-term priorities and longer term possibilities when additional resources are available.
