Nearly 100 Park Township residents, students and community stakeholders participated in the Gather Park Township Open House on March 12. The full house buzzed with palpable energy as the community gathered and shared their ideas for the future community center.
As visitors circulated the room, they engaged in several different ways:
- Q&A with visioning committee members on the process, context and need for a renewed community center
- Connecting with neighbors and fellow residents to generate and brainstorm ideas
- Participating in a structured and meaningful way to their voice priorities, potential uses and attributes
- Hearing from local students from Black River, Holland Christian and West Ottawa about their proposed uses, layouts and characteristics
Park Township was especially thankful to Lynn Kennedy at the team from KIN Coffee, who graciously provided visitors with refreshments.
The event generated hundreds of unique ideas, which the committee will carefully consider, analyze and prepare for the Visioning workshop, to be hosted in May.
