Gather Park Township Reviews Results of Community Survey Results and Initial Public Input Events

At its April 1st meeting, the Park Township Community Center Visioning Committee reviewed results of the township-wide survey and input from community outreach events hosted in March. So far, the Gather Park Township process has gathered input from:

  • 200+ Youth (<18 yr) through Holland Christian, West Ottawa and Black River schools
  • 82 Adults (18-54 yo) through the Public survey
  • 100 Older Adults (55+) through the Public survey
  • 40 Older Adults through a 55+ Focus Group
  • 12 local organizations/nonprofits and businesses a Focus Group
  • 100+ attendees to the Open House event

Through the community’s combined feedback, it has been encouraging to see a growing consensus around several common amenities and shared characteristics. In the presentation shared below is an update on the process to date including several charts and word clouds to help visualize the community’s feedback to date!

Gather Park Township will review results with residents at a shared visioning workshop on May 21 from 5:30p to 7:00p at the West Ottawa High School North Cafeteria. At the event, the visioning committee will report out on the feedback to date, and there will be an opportunity for attendees to share their preferences for look & feel design elements. The results of that input will shape the request for architectural design service proposals later this year.
